1. Local Sandbox and File Processing
NovaRec is designed around a strictly local, privacy-first offline architecture:
- Local Storage: Every video and audio recording produced is saved locally inside your device's media storage (typically under the
/Movies/NovaRecdirectory). - No Server Uploads: We do not operate cloud database services, and we never upload, store, or transmit your recordings to any servers or external parties.
- Media Deletion: Deleting a recording inside the app permanently deletes it from your physical storage card.
2. Permissions We Request
To perform its main utility, the App requires specific system permissions. These are used solely to record and save media locally:
- MediaProjection (Screen Recording): Grants the App permission to capture screen contents. This prompt is generated by the Android system on every session and is not cached by us.
- Audio Recording (Microphone): Optional permission allowed only when user wants to capture microphone voiceover during recordings.
- Display Over Other Apps (Overlay): Used to render floating helper overlay bubbles (record, pause, stop actions) directly above running game apps.
- Post Notifications (Android 13+): Used to create dynamic background recording controllers inside the device status tray.
3. Third-Party Integrations
We use specific third-party APIs that collect analytical and advertisement data to sustain development. These services handle identifiers according to their separate privacy protocols:
- Google Play Services: Powers essential app framework elements.
- Google AdMob (Advertising): Renders banners and interstitial promotions. AdMob may utilize your device's Advertising ID to serve tailored advertisements in accordance with Google Play developer rules.
- Google Play Billing (Purchases): Processes premium in-app VIP membership purchases securely. We never see or store your credit card details; all financial checkouts are securely handled by Google Play's sandbox frame.
4. Children's Privacy
Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable details from children. If we discover a child under 13 has provided personal details, we immediately delete this from our records. If you are a parent and know your child has provided info, contact us immediately so we can remove it.
